So about us: KTD Creative (KTD) is a team of one creative director, three designers, one web developer and one amazing project manager who collectively have over 50+ years of combined interactive, branding and graphic design experience.
Our diverse pool of clients includes corporations, arts organizations, colleges, non-profits, media including radio stations, national museums, small businesses, entrepreneurs and more.
We are good listeners and our audience analysis skills are highly-tuned. KTD uses a tried and true methodology: listen intently to clients, perform the necessary research, and produce outstanding work in both the digital space and print.
KTD is full-service creative and offers branding and highly creative graphic design for print, responsive web design, both Drupal and WordPress content management systems (CMS), web development, information architecture, social media marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), mobile design and more.

Principal, Creative Director & Designer:
Kate founded KTD in January 2005. As principal of KTD, she has worked with more than 130 clients. Her passion is building brands, creating themes and campaigns. As creative director, she is responsible for the strategic direction of all marketing, branding, web design and web development. Kate rolls up her sleeves and designs everyday. In her User Experience Design (UX) she creates information architecture and wireframes.
An award-winning graphic designer, Kate has worked in the communications field since 1996. Kate graduated from Towson University (B.S. in Fine Art concentrating in printmaking) and the University of Baltimore (M.A. in Publications Design, a unique program combining writing and graphic design). She also worked at the FCW Government Technology Group in Falls Church, VA.
Kate has taught both graduate and undergraduate design classes at The University of Baltimore, American University, and Towson University. In her free time she likes to make collages, take photos and run. Once upon a time she played guitar and Farfisa organ in a few Baltimore-based bands but now limits her musical pursuits to learning how to play the ukulele. She has published articles on design in trade publications.
Senior Graphic Designer:
Holly Morgan Barnard
Holly knows brands and what makes customers love them. Prior to working with KTD, Holly has managed the creative development of successful advertising and direct marketing campaigns in diverse industries. Her creative abilities are unparalleled and has much B2B and B2C design experience.
Holly plays a critical role in all phases of the print and online development processes, from concept into layout to final production. Understanding clients’ needs and offering suggestions outside of initial expectations adds strength and longevity to brands. Her talent for logo design is well-recognized.
Holly earned a B. F. A. in Visual Communications from The Maryland Institute College of Art. She has worked as a senior graphic designer for science and medical publisher Wolters Kluwer Health – Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, and as art director for Catalpha Advertising, Siquis, Ltd. and Planit Advertising. All projects Holly designs are infused with an energy and creativity that are fresh, elegant and bold.
Holly is a creative dynamo. She is an enthusiast of live music, is an artist, plays drums in a Baltimore-based rock band, is the mother of two lovely daughters Olivia and Alex, and enjoys gardening. Years ago she and Kate played in the same band. Clearly Holly needs little to no sleep – she truly is superwoman.
Amy Capellman is a project manager with over 6-years experience working on various web development and graphic design projects. From the inception of the project to the delivery of the final product, Amy’s coordination of schedules, tasks and communication along with her attention to detail makes each project a success. She works to ensure that all projects never miss a deadline and meet the highest of standards. Amy is cool as a cucumber and always has a smile. Clients appreciate her upbeat personality and calm demeanor.
Amy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
No matter what the project entails, Amy enjoys every aspect of the process. She strives to provide transparent, continuous communication with the client throughout the entire project and ensures that the final product matches the requirements and expectation of the client.
Family is the most important thing to Amy and she takes advantage of her free time to spend as much time as possible with her family. She enjoys traveling frequently to California and taking advantage of the proximity to the Pacific Ocean and the various attractions California has to offer. Amy is forever in a great mood and we love her for it.
Senior Graphic Designer:
Jacob is a talented designer with 10 years of design experience. A key part of the team, he is adept at either print or web design and has a unique grasp of articulating each clients’ brand. His passion for art and design centers on the expressive possibilities of typographic design.
Jacob earned his Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design at the University of the District of Columbia where he now teaches graphic and web design to undergraduates. Jacob is a deep, creative thinker and has a tireless work ethic. He intuitively grasps the essence of any project and communicates it via his striking graphic design.
In his spare time, Jacob enjoys writing music and experimenting with recipes in the kitchen. A newlywed, Jacob finally succumbed to societal pressure and got hitched to his girlfriend of 10 years in the fall of 2015.
Nathan is a web developer specializing in Drupal and WordPress based projects. After studying Computer Engineering at West Virginia University, he held a series of web development positions at various companies in various industries including news, education, finance, military, and politics.
To date the most notable project Nathan has worked on would be his tenure at the DNC working on a project during President Obama’s first presidential campaign. Nathan works for KTD Creative on a number of projects including the Center for Community Change, the Friends Committee on National Legislation as well as the cool WordPress site your are looking at!
When Nathan is not writing code he is busy chasing his two kids around the house, and doing his best to make it to an occasional Steelers or Pirates game.
