Our diverse pool of clients includes corporations, arts organizations, colleges, non-profits, media including radio stations, national museums, small businesses, entrepreneurs and more.

Principal, Creative Director & Designer:
Kate founded KTD Creative in January 2005. As principal of KTD Creative, she has worked with more than 130 clients. Her passion is building brands, creating themes and campaigns. As creative director, she is responsible for the strategic direction of all marketing, branding, web design and web development. Kate rolls up her sleeves and designs everyday. In her User Experience Design (UX) she creates information architecture and wireframes.
An award-winning graphic designer, Kate has worked in the communications field since 1996. Kate graduated from Towson University (B.S. in Fine Art concentrating in printmaking) and the University of Baltimore (M.A. in Publications Design, a unique program combining writing and graphic design). She also worked at the FCW Government Technology Group in Falls Church, VA.
Kate has taught both graduate and undergraduate design classes at The University of Baltimore, American University, and Towson University. In her free time she likes to make collages, take photos and run. Once upon a time she played guitar and Farfisa organ in a few Baltimore-based bands but now limits her musical pursuits to learning how to play the ukulele. She has published articles on design in trade publications.
Senior Graphic Designer:
Holly Morgan Barnard
Holly knows brands and what makes customers love them. Prior to working with KTD, Holly has managed the creative development of successful advertising and direct marketing campaigns in diverse industries. Her creative abilities are unparalleled and has much B2B and B2C design experience.
Holly plays a critical role in all phases of the print and online development processes, from concept to layout to final production. Understanding clients’ needs and offering suggestions outside of initial expectations adds strength and longevity to brands. Her talent for logo design is well-recognized.
Holly earned a B. F. A. in Visual Communications from The Maryland Institute College of Art. She has worked as a senior graphic designer for science and medical publisher Wolters Kluwer Health – Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, as art director for Catalpha Advertising, Siquis, Ltd. and Planit Advertising. All projects Holly designs are infused with an energy and creativity that are fresh, elegant and bold.
Holly is a creative dynamo. She is an enthusiast of live music, is an artist, plays drums in a Baltimore-based rock band, is the mother of two lovely daughters Olivia and Alex, and enjoys gardening. Years ago she and Kate played in the same band. Clearly Holly needs little to no sleep – she truly is superwoman.
Writing, Messaging & Branding:
Lily Thayer Derrick
Lily Thayer Derrick has over twenty years of writing, editing, communications and marketing experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors.
A relentless self-editor, Lily focuses on delivering clean, error-free copy that is informed and engaging for diverse audiences. She has been responsible for website copy, copy for presentations and print collateral, corporate blogs, research papers and grant proposals, as well as news and magazine stories. Fiction-writing is her first love, and she graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in English and Creative Writing. She holds a Master of Liberal Arts degree from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland.
In addition to her passion for writing, Lily is obsessed with working on her family’s 200-year-old farmhouse and garden outside Baltimore – activities she insists on calling “homesteading” – while making sure her three young children spend as much time outside as possible.
Senior Graphic Designer:
Jacob is a talented designer with 12 years of design experience. A key part of the team, he is adept at either print or web design and has a unique grasp of articulating each clients’ brand. His passion for art and design centers on the expressive possibilities of typographic design.
Jacob earned his Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design at the University of the District of Columbia where he now teaches graphic and web design to undergraduates. Jacob is a deep, creative thinker and has a tireless work ethic. He intuitively grasps the essence of any project and communicates it via his striking graphic design.
In his spare time, Jacob enjoys writing music and experimenting with recipes in the kitchen.
Marketing Strategist, Writing & Messaging:
Sam Hopkins is a proven interdisciplinary thinker and project manager with a focus on innovation and full utilization of digital platforms to increase product and service awareness and drive revenue. Sam has extensive experience in online learning, including product innovation at online college course provider StraighterLine, four years of teaching as an adjunct professor in MICA’s Business of Art and Design MPS program, and deployment of successful webinar and Facebook Live series at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and specialty nutrition company VAYA Pharma.
At VAYA, Sam led the development and deployment of an e-commerce platform integrated with SalesForce and a call-center based direct sales organization he managed with specialty vendors. He directed multiple technical developers and partners and used educational email and web content and coupon promotions to generate over $500,000 in sales in the first quarter of e-commerce site operation.
Ari Rosenberg is a graphic designer and website developer with over 20 years of experience working on various projects with various demands. Ari works closely with the design team to provide guidance and expertise in the translation of conceptual design into practical deliverables. Attention to detail is very important to Ari, he takes pride in finding solutions to development challenges and always strives to find just the right solution for each project he works on.
Ari earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He continues a relationship the the University as an adjunct professor, teaching courses to educate new designers on the technologies they need to master. Teaching is a great way in which Ari keeps up-to-date on the latest best-practices and continues develop his skill set along side his students.
Ari is married to a wonderful wife and is the exhausted parent of two sons. Together they all enjoy family playtime with their dog, Rothko.
